Braydon Lim Retires After 14 Season Career

Lim, 38, was a journeyman who played for 4 different teams during his career.

Braydon Lim, 38, retired from the Louisville Lions after season 69 concluded. Lim's career was one of the journeyman, as he was a part of four separate teams in a fourteen season span.

Lim was added by the now-historic Elizabeth Jersey Kings in season 56, although he never pitched for them and was added by the Colorado Springs Springs Blaze for the following season. In Colorado Springs, he had a combined record of 15-12 in 4 seasons. After posting a 3.26 ERA in season 60, Lim was picked up by the now-historic Lafayette Rakuten Eagles for three seasons. He had a combined record of 16-9 while in Lafayette, and the best season of his career here. In season 62, Lim had a 10-2 record, a 2.53 ERA and a 0.83 WHIP in 89 innings, helping lead the Rakuten Eagles to a division championship in the Ocean Star Southeast division. After season 63, Lafayette released Lim to free agency.

Finally, Lim settled in Louisville when the Lions added him from free agency, and he immediately proved his value, going 7 innings in his Lions debut in season 64, allowing only 1 run and 2 baserunners the entire game. The next three seasons would prove to be some of his best seasons, with three straight winning seasons of 8 wins, during which he helped the Lions to two straight division titles.

As Lim aged, his statistics began deteriorating and he was removed from the starting rotation in season 69 after a rough season. However, Lim had a fine career overall. Below are Lim's statlines as a career and specifically with the Lions.

Final Lions Statline: 30 W, 24 L, 217 K, 65 BB, 271 ER, 5.03 ERA, 1.22 WHIP

Final Career Statline: 61 W, 45 L, 431 K, 109 BB, 456 ER, 4.40 ERA, 1.101 WHIP

On behalf of the Lions organization and the city of Louisville, we wish Lim a happy retirement and thank him for his service to our team and this great city.
